It is important that the nursery feels connected to its community – that if we were not here, local people would miss us. Children are regularly taken out on little visits to our local shops where they help to buy their own snacks and provisions. They also enjoy trips the Post Office and sometimes they get to travel on buses!
Taking the children on a variety of walks is a lovely way for them to learn about the world around them – and their learning focus could be any number of things, such as: seasonal changes in nature, maths, road safety, listening activities, phonics etc.
The children also look forward to our special summer trips. Some of the places we like to visit are: Hall Hill Farm, Beamish, Saltwell Park and South Shields.
