Here at Oxhill we are so proud to have such a spacious and well resourced outdoor area. Children thoroughly enjoy exploring and investigating the natural environment and we give them plenty of opportunities to learn while being active (and often getting messy!) Our children are supported to take safe risks such as climbing trees, digging in sand and gravel pits, splashing in water and mud, rolling down the hill, swinging from branches, riding on tricycles and bouncing on trampolines!
We also make good use of our Forest School – the children particularly enjoy building dens and toasting marshmallows over a campfire!
Our most recent acquisition is a Mud Kitchen – where children enjoy making magical mud pies!
Each class also has responsibility for their own garden planter – which has become a bit of a competition between classrooms! ‘Oxhill Grow Off’ is an opportunity for children to experience planting and growing flowers, herbs and vegetables, while learning about growth and change in nature.
